NLRB ISSUES COMPLAINT AGAINST TEAMSTERS LOCAL 743

9/12/12:  The National Labor Relations Board issued a complaint against Teamsters Local 743 for disciplining one of its employees for testifying at a Board hearing last fall. The hearing is set for October 4. The same employee was then discharged in May. The Guild plans to file another charge at the NLRB over this employee’s discharge, which not coincidentally occurred shortly after the NLRB issued a complaint on behalf of the employee. It is the Guild’s contention that Teamsters Local 743 discharged her in retaliation for the NLRB issuing a complaint.

In a related matter, the Guild filed a grievance over the termination of another employee.
