Sapiens United

SAPIENS United represents non-management staff at the digital anthropology magazine SAPIENS. Published by the Wenner-Gren Foundation in partnership with the University of Chicago Press, the magazine features stories for general audiences about everything human as told by anthropologists. In addition, we train anthropologists to be public communicators who can share their work with creativity, clarity, and integrity. We launched in 2016 and have grown to also offer a podcast, writing workshops, the Public Scholars Training Fellowship, a poet-in-residence program, teaching curricula, webinars, and poetry readings. We seek equity, transparency, support and protections, a long-term commitment to editorial independence, and sustainable and healthy working conditions.
