Lenny Nieves is the current grievance chair for the IOU professional staff.  Lenny is a Field Service Director for the Illinois Federation of Teachers, working with and representing over 1500 IFT members in 13 locals/councils.  He has worked in this position with the IFT since 2005.  Prior to the IFT, Lenny was a high school history teacher at Warren Township High School in Gurnee, IL for 11 years and a member of IFT Local 504.  He holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Toledo (OH) and a Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University.  Lenny is married (15 years and counting) with 2 children (ages 8 and 18 months).
