Stephanie Dowell has been a staff photographer at the Post-Tribune since April 2000. She joined the Gary Newspaper Guild Local 34014 almost immediately. After several years, Stephanie was nominated as guild secretary and held the post until shortly before the guild merged with the Chicago Newspaper Guild and became the Gary Unit of the CNG. She is proud of the photographers’ long-standing tradition of high attendance at guild meetings. Stephanie is currently the vice chair of the unit, as well as, an alternate for the unit’s bargaining representative.
