Cindy Wojdyla Cain

Vice Chair Cindy Wojdyla Cain is serving as the alternate representative from the Joliet Unit during negotiations. She is the business and county beat reporter at The Herald-News. She writes a weekly column on local business news and is the creator of and a frequent contributor to the paper’s popular Pulse column. She’s been with the newspaper since 1985 and has also covered education and feature beats. Cain has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and also attended Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills. She grew up in Palos Heights and Oak Lawn and now lives in Ottawa with her husband, Lonny Cain, who is the managing editor of The Times. They have two grown children: Scott lives in Brooklyn N.Y. and works in the book publishing industry, and Tyler is a civil/environmental engineering student at Iowa State University.
