Guild and Chief Judge Exchange Initial Proposals

It just seemed like yesterday that we ratified a new contract. However, the last contract expired on December 1, 2012. So the Guild and other unions are now in the midst of negotiating with the Office of Interpreter Services. Attached are the parties initial proposals. County Proposal Guild Proposal
While the Guild’s proposal looks forward by affording our membership to become certified like all other jurisdictions with diverse communities, the Office of Interpreter Services wants to turn the clock back by imposing onerous conditions on all interpreters.
Just remember that these are just initial proposals. Although the Guild is required to bargain in good faith, our negotiating committee is determined to make sure that your working conditions actually improve with an increase in wages.
The Guild’s next scheduled bargaining session is scheduled for Monday, July 15 at 69 West Washington Blvd at 2:00 p.m. on the 19th floor.
Please do not hesitate to e-mail us with any questions.
